Welcome back to Life After Convent blog! Today I’m giving a brief update on the book, as well as releasing two audio recordings for the blog.
Book Update: All About the Numbers
Thank you for your patience as I continue drafting my convent book. Last week, I reviewed the content I have already written, and considered how I could finish a solid first draft by the end of May. My manuscript was 60,000 words last week, with the first half, later middle, and last chapter and epilogue completed. My target word count for the book is 75,000 words.
This past week, I wrote 6,809 words. Some of these will undoubtedly be taken out in my second draft, but this still puts me in a good position to reach my desired word count by May 31. As long as I can produce 5,000 usable words per week, I will reach my 75,000-word goal, as promised.
Of course, while tracking the word count keeps me accountable, the most important aspect of this draft are the words themselves. Please pray for me, that I will write the story God wants me to share with honesty, clarity, and courage. I am writing this book, first for myself and my own healing, and then to help others on their spiritual journeys. May each of these words bear fruit that will remain (John 15:16)!
